We are cycling

The road of the cyclist has climbs, descents, plains, false flats, endless routes, unexpected curves. Every ride a story, and every rider, too. Knowing what cycling means gives us the rare passion and knowledge to adapt and listen to the cyclist, because they’re on the journey with us.With a family of bicycles designed to suit every rider, we offer a bike for every step of the ride, from full suspension Enduro mountain bikes to featherweight Grand Tour racing steeds. Bikes for sheer enjoyment, for unending miles through the forest, and for the pinnacle of performance. We are cycling because we are fluid, able to adapt to the needs of every rider like a cyclist reading a corner.

We are builders

In 1840 our forebearers, the Orbea Brothers, opened a small workshop in the heart of Basque Country in Eibar. With relentless work and ambition, the workshop grew to become the first factory in a city eventually dedicated to industry. Over time, the factory became a leader amongst its peers, pioneering many innovative products and manufacturing procedures. Since that time we’ve maintained the innovative spirit of the Eibar factory, constantly adapting our products for our customers. When guns were no longer the business of Orbea, we used our innate knowledge of steel tubing to build bicycles of all types, from the premium to the most basic. The cycle of progress never ends with our team of passionate individuals and champions who constantly innovate and adapt to the changing marketplace and rider needs. The best of Orbea is always in our work, and because of it we are always seeking new ways to improve and make the best bicycles on Earth.

We are competition

From our first day setting foot in the world of cycling we’ve partnered with the best competitive cyclists. From Mariano Cañardo, our first great rider, to the first Vuelta a España in history, and with great conquerors of mountains like Federico Ezquerra and the Montero brothers… Then, in the 1980s, we saw an opportunity to return to the forefront of racing. Led by a legend, Txomin Perurena, our early winning ways were implanted in the hearts of our fans, from the Vuelta a Perico, Pais Vasco con Peio, the accomplishments of Marino… Then, we came back with the Euskadi Foundation, Roberto Laiseka, Iban Mayo, Haimar Zubeldia, winning stages in the Tour, the Vuelta, in the hardest of climbs, from Luz Ardiden to the fierce Zoncolan, through Abantos and Andorra. But we also went Olympic, almost from the first moment we attacked the world of MTB with Roberto Lezaun and Jokin Mujika, from Atlanta to London, touching the top step of the podium with the best rider in recent history, Julien Absalon, who won in Beijing within days of Samuel Sanchez. An epic – even Olympic – triumph for Orbea
